Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl turns the Government Camp ski hill into a summer playground with alpine slides, karts, zip lines and bungee trampolines. It suits families with kids old enough for thrill rides and anyone who wants a mountain day near Portland. Buying a pass online saves $10 over the resort price.

Buy passes online by 11:59 PM the night before. Same-day passes are only sold at the resort, for $10 more.
Go on a Wednesday. West Side Wednesdays are half off when you buy online ahead.
Karts cost extra even with a pass. Indy Karts are $11 a ride with the Action Pass and $15 with the Adventure Pass.
Mountain weather changes fast. Refunds are only given for weather closures.
